Cassandra Prentiss is a multimedia artist based in Pittsburgh, PA.

Specializing in intricate handiwork, she is often found with her face inches from her given project, intent on finding the best way to create it.

She can often be found working in the studio of James Simon, a large-scale sculptor, in his studio in Uptown. Since 2024, she has worked as his primary studio assistant, crafting enormous public art mosaics, ceramics, and cement sculptures.

She has a particular love for tapestry weaving, having been taught by Mahmoud Kosyaem during a month-long intensive in Brooklyn.

In the recent past, she has enjoyed other opportunities; a studio assistant to Jose Santiago-Perez; a gallery installer at the Carnegie Museum for the 59th International; and a production assistant at Rainstick Dreams.

She looks forward now to bringing all these experiences together to create a business all her own, under the name Loomarelli.

Loomarelli is an opportunity for Cassandra to explore her love of custom work, crafting specialty items using her signature intricacy to satisfy a client's particular taste.

Self-taught in some crafts, apprenticed under masters in others, she is a regular Renaissance girl, ready to take on any new challenge that comes her way.
